In Ms. Mulvey’s class we have been learning different ways people can tell the time. Nowadays it is very easy to find out what time it is, by looking at our clocks, watches, phones, TV screens etc. We were interested in finding out how people were able to tell the time of day before all these things were invented.
Our research led to us finding out about the sundial, a device that can tell the time of day using the position of the sun. We saw how we could use our shadows as a sundial point, but we would have to stand outside all day in the same position to see this working!! So we decided to make our own sundials using paper plates and straws. Look at us hard at work!!
