This week in Mr. Raftery’s we have been learning all about Brazil. Brazil is the largest country in South America and they will host the next World Cup and Olympic Games! Everybody researched the country for homework and we found out some fascinating facts.Brian Duffy also discovered some very interesting things during his research. He told us how Brazilians speak Portuguese and they are very chatty – we think we would fit in very well over there!! The Brazilians love to party, and they celebrate Lent in a special way. In the days coming up to Lent, they have large street parties full of colour and samba music. This festive period is known as Carnival. Check out the Carnival masks we made:
