Taste Test in Junior Infants!

November 20, 2014

There are some great scientists here in Junior Infants.  Today we carried out a taste test!  While learning about our five senses, we discovered that we use our tongue to taste.  We learned that there are four basic tastes; sweet, sour, bitter and salty!  We decided to carry out a test to discover these four different tastes!  We tasted a lemon, some crisps, some sugary jellies and natural yogurt.  First we made our predictions, then we got down to business and tasted the food!  We were very good at guessing what the food would taste like!  We discovered that the sugary jellies tasted sweet, the crisps were salty, the yogurt was sour and the lemon tasted very bitter!  The jellies were the most popular food, followed by the crisps!
