It has been another very busy month in Junior Infants. Throughout February, we were learning all about houses. We read stories like ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and ‘A Squash and a Squeeze’. In art, we painted beautiful pictures of our own houses, and we decorated the houses of the three pigs. In music, we learnt new songs like ‘Gotta build a house’. We even read the three little pigs as gaeilge and did a short drama! We are getting very good at sequencing, we sequenced the story of the three little pigs.
Our Play time was all about houses too! We turned our role-play area into an Estate Agents! We took turns pretending to be home-buyers, and being the estate agent helping the customers. The customer looked at lots of houses in different books and filled out a form about the kind of house they would like. The estate agent would then ring and see if the house was available. We also did a lot of construction play this month. First we made a plan of what we were going to build, then we got to work! We had a sand box which we pretended was a construction site!
After each play session, we review! We look at pictures from our play and talk about what we did. We are getting really good at asking questions! We love play time!
