We certainly had a busy week this week in first and second class. The boys in Ms. Clinton’s class were busy cooking and experimenting!! As we had been learning all about fractions in maths we decided to see how this new knowledge could be used in everyday life. We discussed times when we need to split or divide things up evenly so we used a pizza as our example. As we all know a pizza is not only delicious but can also be a healthy snack or meal and because it is so delicious its important that we all get an equal slice!! So with that in mind we made our very own homemade pizzas on Thursday in school with the help of Orla, our wonderful SNA. We made five pizzas in total, a plain cheese, a mighty meaty, vegetarian, ham and cheese and cheese and peppers. The pizzas were baked in the oven and then divided out among the class. We split them into halves, quarters and eighths. The pizzas were even served with a side salad of fresh rocket…move over Dylan McGrath, there are some new chefs in town!!
