Gardening

The school gardening club was established a number of years ago and has gone from strength to strength. Our budding gardeners are out all year round under the guidance of Mrs. Keane. They work tirelessly to maintain the ever growing garden.

In recent times they have expanded the vegetable patch, planted fruit trees and added a daffodil spiral. Apart from working with the plants, the gardeners have also addressed the area of conservation. They added a water butt, a leaf composter, a minibeast motel, some bird feeders and a wormery.

The boys have also added a great splash of colour to the garden by creating beautiful murals and painting the fence and tyres in vibrant colours.  Their efforts have not gone unnoticed and they have won numerous prizes for their work, including winning the Best Use Of Art In The Garden category at the Pride of Place Competition on more than one occasion. They also took the Best Edible Garden Award in 2012.
