Safetalk programme for Parents and Coaches.
Date: Wednesday, 27th March 2019
Venue: Duleek Bellewstown GAA Clubhouse
Time: 7:00pm – 10:00pm
Safetalk is a 3 hour training programme that prepares participants over the age of 18 to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to a suicide first aid resource. These specific skills are called suicide alertness and are taught with the expectation that the persons learning them will use them to help reduce suicide risk in their community.
After completing this session you will be better able to:
• move beyond the common tendencies to miss, dismiss or avoid suicide;
• identify people who have thoughts of suicide;
• apply the TALK steps (Tell, Ask, Listen & Keepsafe) to connect a person with thoughts of suicide, to suicide first-aid intervention caregivers.
