We have been busy in Ms. Leppla’s Junior Infants learning all about artists. An artist is a person who paints pictures. Sometimes they wear special hats. They use equipment such as palettes, brushes, easels and canvases. We learned about an artist from Russia named Kandinsky. He loved to use shape and colour in his work. We love shapes and colours too so we decided to recreate his painting ” A Colour Study of Squares”. We did a great job! It is had to imagine that Kandinsky painted his work 100 years ago. Check out our work below 🙂
We also painted flowers and experimented with line and pattern on each petal after they were dry. We think they brighten up January!
